William Schooler, 70 (right), a pastor at St Peter's Missionary Baptist in Dayton, Ohio was shot and killed by his brother while service was in session at the church. The choir was singing when the suspect, 69-year-old Daniel (left), got up, followed the pastor and shot him as he got behind the pulpit. He died at the scene from his injuries. While the motive for the shooting is not clear, reports say it was related to a domestic incident. Schooler was a decorated Vietnam veteran who was awarded the Bronze star graduated from Central State University in 1972, the Ohio State University in 1976, and Grace College, Columbia, South Carolina in 2003. He was appointed pastor of the church in 2011.

The deceased were killed in a road accident at the Akoda junction involving a fuel tanker and an 18-seater commercial bus. The tanker involved belongs to the Nigeria National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) and the driver is now at large. An eye witness who spoke to Channels Television said that the tanker, which was coming from Osogbo, had earlier hit a car at Owode Ede, before hitting the stationary bus with passengers on board. The tanker was said to have lost control and run over some roadside petty traders and hawkers. The victims include a family of three who were reportedly buried immediately. Most of the victims were said to have been mutilated while survivors have been rushed to hospitals.
