A suicide bomber fail in Borno state.

Abuja - A suicide bomber who allegedly attempted to blow up the bridge linking Maiduguri and Damaturu in Borno State is said to have lost his life during the failed attempt.
A resident of Beneisheikh, Modu Ibrahims, said a male driver running a dark ash-coloured Volkswagen Golf car was seen driving towards the military and civilian JTF check points at the tail of the bridge, but before he could maneuver his way to the security check the vehicle exploded leaving the driver dead.
“The suicide bomber could not reach his target before the bomb exploded killing him with the explosion causing injuries to dozens of roadside hawkers selling their wares including the beggars who take advantage of the security stop to get patronage from motorists,” Ibrahim said

A security source which confirmed the incident said normalcy had returned to the town.
“There is no problem now. Vehicles are passing and people are also moving. The bridge was not affected in the explosion,” he said.
There has been a spate of deadly suicide bombs around the country. These have been linked to the Islamic extremist Boko Haram sect.
